Articles & Websites
Here are some of the key publications in which my writing and research have been featured. Plus the major websites that I had a hand in developing and managing during the early days of the Internet.
Jack Kirby Omnibus 2
Mar. 2024
I was lucky enough to be asked by DC Comics to write and collate the section on Jack Kirby’s toy designs, uncovering a lot of never-before-seen Kirby toy art and info, and even if you think you know all about the Kenner Super Powers Collection, I’m sure there will be at least a few things in here to surprise you.

Secret Wars Omnibus
Jan. 2008
One of my first big research projects was detailing the history of the Mattel Secret Wars toy line for an appendix to the Marvel Comics Omnibus in 2008. This book was out of print until 2023 (and going for big prices.)

ToyCollectr Magazine
# 5, May/Jun. 2023
This article was basically an updated version of the Secret Wars Omnibus appendix, incorporating all of the new information which I’ve uncovered about the line’s demise and the unproduced fourth and fifth series of action figures and vehicles.

Backissue magazine
# 30, Sept. 2008
In this article, I detailed the history of the Super Powers toy line and went in depth for the first time about the unproduced fourth wave that was canceled while it was in production in China.

Raving Toy Maniac
1995 – 2000

I co-founded THE seminal toy website – we were the first site to cover Toy Fair as press, the first to host toy panels at San Diego Comic Con, and we worked with many toy companies of the day on exclusives and fan outreach.
We garnered nearly every web award you could, and were even featured on CNN Headline News.
Action Figure Insider
2005 – 2014

I co-founded the NEXT seminal toy website – AFi has long been a premier source for toy news online. I designed the site for the first decade and contributed many blogs, reporting from conventions, and exclusive viral articles before having to step back due to my day job responsibilities. I still contribute from time to time.
My blog was featured by AdWeek, TheTodayShow.com, MSNBC.com, Huffington Post, PerezHilton.com, Business Insider, io9, /FILM, The Licensing Letter, Wired.com, Gizmodo, Fark, Geekologie, Digg, Boing-Boing, Cnet, G4, and the official StarWars.com website, not to mention NRO and NPR.
